Arken generator sets have laid down the standard for backup and reliability. The company manufactures over 5,000 diesel generators a year, ranging from 2–2,750 kVA, in their 14,000sqm facility.

Perkins Engines & Nekra Alternators for the Irish Market
Under the hood, a Perkins diesel engine runs a Nekra alternator. These engines meet ISO 8528 and ISO 3046 specifications. Perkins engines boast a legendary performance record, with over 20 million manufactured—of which more than half are still operating. Owned by Caterpillar, these are the diesel engines that power the machines that build the world.
In terms of emergency power backup, should the mains voltage go outside a preset value, Arken gensets (with the automatic option) automatically start the generator and supply electricity to the building or farm. This occurs within 8-10 seconds. Once the mains electricity returns—and after a short monitoring period to ensure the mains voltage remains healthy—the internal control logic automatically switches the load from the generator back to the mains. It then runs idle for 3 minutes and cools itself down.
Arken’s heavy-duty chassis and exteriors minimise vibrations and provide sound insulation to ISO 8528-10:1998. In addition, the steel exteriors are painted with electrostatic based primed paint, to protect the components from our often damp Irish weather. By design, users have easy access to the engine, alternator, and the control panel.
